Sunday 2nd February - Practical Work in Wanstead Park
Well overdue work in the Bund. This area is little used by the public and provides a quiet habitat for a variety of wildlife. We worked on thinning and cutting down young sycamores and undergrowth to improve the habitat.

These gravel pits were featured in a programme by Bill Oddie, and are well know for the selection of (sometimes rare) water birds that occur there.

Clearing brambles and other obstructions from overgrown paths in various parts of the Park.

Sunday 16th March - Lesnes Abbey Woods
Twenty acres of wild daffodils and the ruins of a 12th century abbey are two of the attractions of this site near Abbey Wood in Kent. The daffodils are said to be unsurpassed in southern England.

Sunday 6th April - Practical Work in Wanstead Park

Sunday 13th April - Trent Park Country Park
Another walk led by Norman Olley, this time to Trent Park Originally part of the great Royal Hunting Forest of Enfield Chase, this park, near Cockfosters in north London, is now a pleasant mixture of meadows and woodland, with a series of ponds formed by the damming of a small stream. Trees planted by Humphrey Repton and a wide variety of wild birds, as well as a café, are some of the delights of this park

Sunday 31st August - Practical Work
Brought forward due to Forest Fair.

Sunday 7th September - Epping Forest Festival
An annual event organised by the Corporation of London to celebrate all aspects of Epping Forest with craft displays, performers, staff in costume, music, dancing and a lot more. The Wren Group had a stall, along with other local groups.

Thursday 11th September - Bat Walk, Wanstead Park
Richard Oakman led one of his popular evening Bat Walks, using bat detectors and eyes we tried to identify the various species of bat that use the park as their feeding ground.

Sunday 21st September - Redbridge "No car day" High St Wanstead E11
Part of a national event to show we don't need cars all the time. The High Street was closed off for stalls, entertainment, a wonderful French market and no cars! The Wren Group had a stall.

Sunday 28th September - A guided walk round Bully Point
Les Rice led this walk around Stratford's very own nature reserve, with all sorts of plants and wildlife to see.

Using our boat to reach Lincoln Island, a lot of work was done to ensure a good show of the wild daffodils in the Spring

Sunday 19th October - A walk in Bushey Park
Another walk by Norman Olley, this time to Bushey Park. This large park, next to Hampton Court, dates back to the sixteenth century. It has several ponds, and many interesting buildings and monuments. It also contains a wildlife conservation area.

Further clearance work on Lincoln Island including dead trees lying in water. Some boat work for volunteers!

Saturday 15th November - Walk around Wanstead Flats
